Q:Could this be placed outdoors?
A:I would say no - the top wooden section doesn’t appear durable to the elements. Great unit indoors though

Q:Can i assemble top and bottom shelvess only?
A:I wouldn't advise doing that, because it would take away the stability of the legs.
