Q:Would it be possible to assemble it without the single cube?
A:Yes you can assemble it without the single cube at the bottom as this is separate pieces to the rest. You can't omit the single cube at the top as the longest side is 1 piece.

Q:Does the unit need securing to the wall as recommended?
A:It is fairly stable but of course the safety of this unit would depend on what use you put it to. Mine is sited under a staircase and it is not fastened to the wall.

Q:What's the max load capacity of each shelf please, I have lots of books!!
A:The max. static load capacity of each cube is 15 kg, so there is ample room for your books
